Virat Kohli was born into a Punjabi family.

His father worked as a criminal lawyer.

His mother is a housewife.

When Kohli was three years old , Kohli would pick up a cricket bat.

Kohli's father died due to a stroke after being bed-ridden for a month.


Virat Kohli started his schooling at Vishal Bharti Public School.


Kohli trained at the academy under Rajkumar Sharma and played matches at the Sumeet Dogra Academy at Vasundhara Enclave at the same time.

Virat Kohli first played for Delhi Under-15 team in October 2002 in the 2002-03 Polly Umrigar Trophy.

Kohli became the captain for the 2003-04 Polly Umrigar Trophy.

In July 2006 , Kohli was selected in the India Under-19 squad on its tour of England.

In April 2007,Kohli made his Twenty20 debut and finished as the highest run getter for his team in the Inter-State T20 Championship.

Virat Kohli is an Indian cricketer who currently Captains the India national team.

Kohli is right-handed top-order batsman.

Virat Kohli plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
